Snow Play in the Jeep!

Snow Play in the Jeep

This week hiking was an after thought, so instead I decided to just go up and have some snow play in the Jeep!

With all the extra work around the homestead this week, and upcoming medium sized flooring job this weekend, I decided to take it easy for the week and not hike. However, I still need my alpine and snow fix!

Luckily, we have a Jeep! So this week we went back up to Loon Lake. This was a good choice for us, for I know they plow all the way up to the power station on the lake and then the road out to the famous Rubicon trail is left as is! It was warm and drizzling, but some snow was left for us to play on, after all it’s at 6500ft! The one thing I wish we’d had was a buddy in a second vehicle! I realized pretty quickly that sloppy wet icy snow was not the easiest to get around after some rain. I really didn’t want to chain up either, although I did have them.

So instead of getting too deep, we turned around and just enjoyed the beauty of the place and all it offered this time.

The lake had a layer of Ice on it and looked beautiful, especially with the low clouds and fog like drizzle. I am always inspired by the mountains and feel in touch with nature when I’m there!

Also, some of the fun of snow play in the Jeep, is watching the kid and the dog tromp around in it knowing can get wet and cold just to hop in and get warm!

I always love snow play in the Jeep, and I will continue to do it until I cant anymore!

When was the last time you just played in the snow?
