Hike day three and the data is missing!

Hike Day 3

The whole family got to hike the lake today, but, to my horror, the data is missing!

With Christmas right around the corner, we were all able to go on a hike together! It was great! Having everyone out to enjoy the forests is the best!

Since my fitness is still coming back slowly, we decided to do the same lake shoreline hike from last week, including the lunch spot a mile in.  A nice easy hike to continue my fitness improvement.

Being an engineer, I love data! Build it, read it, analyze it, graph it, present it, you name it! Data is great! Until its not…

Being a cyclist and an engineer makes me want to track everything! Data shows you where you are without bias or preferences.  The technology that helps you track it is just plain cool too! Currently, I have a preference to my Garmin watch. I’m using the Garmin Fenix 5 Plus, and I use it for everything. It is my data collector for all my current activities: hikes, bikes, walks, cardio, weights, and sleep. Since my current goal is to improve, I track all the hikes we go on in Garmin Connect and view them to see where I am. It is just another tool to see if what I am doing is working.

Today however, I forgot to start the hike on the watch!!!! Whoops! I did notice just before the turn around, but still, I am missing half the data! Well, at least I noticed before we got back to the Jeep! I guess that the excitement of having the whole family there for the hike distracted me! It was still a great hike!

Do you use a fitness tracker for all your activities?
